After Jammu border tension, LoC shelling erupts in Uri | KNO

After Jammu region, cross-LoC shelling erupted in Uri sector of Kashmir division, an army official said. He said that Pakistan army last night at around 9:55 pm violated ceasefire by firing from automatic weapons and shelling mortars on several army posts along the line of control (LOC) in Kamal Koot area of Uri Sector in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

The shelling continued till 12:30 am, he said. The official said that besides attacking several army posts, the Pakistani troops attacked a village close to the border.

However, there were no immediately report of any causality due to the shelling so far. Meanwhile, local people said that there was panic as people move to safer places and there was also disturbances in offering prayers.
